Dana M. Young is NOVA's Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel. As CFO, Dana oversees NOVA’s accounting and contract management activities; prepares and reviews corporate and project operating budgets; oversees audits; oversees facilities and equipment issues (exclusive of computer hardware and software); and oversees human resources and personnel benefits. She also participates in business planning and development activities.
As General Counsel, Dana coordinates regulatory and legal issues with appropriate internal and external groups. She works with NOVA’s Human Resources and Diversity Manager to maintain staff awareness of critical workplace issues and policies.
Dana also possesses in-depth expertise in writing for the health research arena. She has a bachelor’s degree in public policy/health policy from Duke University and background in policy development, implementation, and evaluation. Her tenure at NOVA includes undertaking strategic planning projects, program evaluations, and science writing. She has provided writing and management support for the prestigious President’s Cancer Panel since 1993.
Outside of work, Dana juggles a household of three young children, two dogs, and one cat with her husband Matt, a science teacher. Her hobbies include reading, photography, hiking, and traveling.
