Support to the Center for Cancer Research (CCR): Associated Working Groups/Faculties and the NCI Institutional Review Board

NOVA provides scientific writing and editing support to the CCR — one of the largest basic and clinical cancer research facilities in the world, with 3,500 staff members and more than 330 Principal Investigators who conduct preclinical research and clinical trials. CCR investigators exchange ideas and research experiences through working group, intramural research faculty, and other interdisciplinary meetings. Through these meetings, CCR staff discuss translational protocols, develop stronger relations among themselves and with extramural groups, and maintain communication throughout the CCR and other NCI Divisions. NOVA's science writers prepare reports and summaries of these meetings, recording the most relevant discussion points and recommendations for future action. NOVA also supports the NCI Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC), which review NCI-sponsored clinical protocols of studies to be conducted at the NIH Clinical Center.
